Just 3 km from Cannes city centre, Villa Domergue, designed and built by the artist Jean-Gabriel Domergue, draws its inspiration from Venetian palaces and gardens.
It is a true place of art, surrounded by a magnificent garden. Created in a period of affluence, and inspired by the estates that dominate Florence, the Villa Domergue stands like a jewel in the Cannes landscape. Through his work, the artist Jean Gabriel Domergue contributed to the revival of 20th-century decorative art. His wife, the sculptor Odette Maugendre, designed the terraced Mediterranean gardens, pools and waterfalls of the villa Fiesole, as it was originally called.
The scene of sumptuous festivities, it was bequeathed to the City of Cannes in 1973, which hosts events and exhibitions there throughout the year and welcomes the Cannes Film Festival jury for its deliberations every year.
