The world of games is coming to Cannes from 22-24 February 2019!
Everyone from the world of games, whether professional players or those who are simply curious, are invited to come and discover every games universe in the heart of the largest French-speaking entertainment event at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes. You can’t fail to find something to delight you there: board games, spelling and general knowledge games, traditional games and the great classics, simulation games, video games, role-playing games and figurines, live-action role-playing games, escape games, collector cards, building games, creative pastimes and toys, etc.
The biggest French-speaking entertainment meeting
With over 100,000 visitors, 3,500 professionals (publishers, creators, illustrators, distributors) and 12,000 competitive players, the Cannes International Games Festival is the largest entertainment event in the French-speaking world. With the benefit of 33 years’ experience, it has been able to draw up a number of rules to entice the masses and build on its success, over the years, using a dual identity: that of an innovative professional trade fair, at the cutting edge of reality in the games market, and that of a fête open to the general public. A “multi-function” tool in the service of professionals, it is a comprehensive showcase for trends in the sector, as well as an invaluable think tank thanks to the presence of both creators and players of every type!
A dynamic programme
As of 21 February, the festival will be punctuated by professional meetings: four days to kick off promising new projects, by means of conferences, private showrooms, “off nights” where we test prototypes of the games of tomorrow, and also initiatives such as the “Protolab”, where everyone can meet up and exchange ideas with a selection of talented but as yet unpublished creators.
Golden Ace Ceremony 2019
A festival is not a festival without its award ceremony. The Golden Ace Game of the Year 2019 awards will be bestowed on Thursday 21 February at 20:00 when the International Games Festival opens, in the presence of prize-winning publishers and creators. The nominated and winning games will be highlighted throughout the trade fair in a dedicated space and on the stands of the prize-winning publishers.
