Created more than 30 years ago under the name Cartes Secure Connexions in order to promote newly-developed technology, namely the sim card, this event, re-named Trustech in 2016 to better reflect the developments in the sector, will take place from 27 to 29 November 2018 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes. On the programme for this 2018 edition of Trustech: 3 days of events, networking and content. This equates to over 300 exhibitors and 250 international speakers – young, talented entrepreneurs and opinion leaders in the fields of payments, financial services, commerce, identification and data security – who are meeting with the international digital trust community. Among the numerous themes tackled: mobile payments and wallets, data protection, biometrics and authentication, connected commerce, etc.
2018, a pivotal year for data protection
With the 2nd version of the Payment Services Directive (PSD2) coming into force and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), 2018 constitutes a major step in data protection in Europe. The question of the impact of the new regulations will naturally be one of the central themes of the Trustech conferences.
