Less visible, but just as essential as the exterior projects, this time the modernisation and renovation works are concentrating on the interior: floor coverings in the exhibitions area in the basement (replacing the existing PVC slabs with resin), replacing the generator control panel, refurbishing the Tourist Office toilet block, changing the electrical distribution panels, replacing the doors in the building to bring these in line with the accessibility codes and renewing the air conditioning units in the Ambassadors’ Lounge, the Press Lounge and the boxes.
Duration of works: 3 July to 15 September
The aim is to provide events organisers with areas that are compliant with the new requirements in terms of technical and safety standards, and to strengthen the image of Cannes in the “business tourism” sector. This is a major sector for the city, as in 2016 it represented nearly EUR 800 million in economic benefits across the Cannes Area.
