Mapic 2018 is setting up shop in Cannes.

The best international retail property market

Mapic, the Marché International de l’Implantation Commerciale et de la Distribution (International Retail and Distribution Property Market) is coming to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes from 14-16 November 2018. 8,500 international participants are expected, including over 2,500 real estate promoters and shopping centre owners, and over 2,100 brands who will present their projects, thus giving the brands the unique opportunity to discover new and fast-growing international retail locations.

A booming industry

This year three exclusive themed summits will be held at Mapic in order to respond to the challenges of a booming industry : leisure, designer outlets and franchise on an international level.

Retail and leisure can never truly be separated as consumers now come to retail premises not just to shop, but also to eat, enjoy themselves, educate themselves or simply to have a good time with friends or family. This is why Mapic is launching for the first time this year, the Mapic Leisure Summit, which will take place the day before the trade fair officially opens, on Tuesday 13 November. This exclusive invitation-only summit will be the chance to take stock of the global market, highlight the latest trends in this industry, study new economic models and optimize the integration of new stakeholders in retail spaces (cinema, play areas, theme parks, augmented and virtual reality, etc.).

The second edition of the Mapic Outlet Summit will take place on Tuesday 13 November at 14:00. This invitation-only event is dedicated exclusively to the designer outlet sector. It will bring together speakers and key players from the sector, who will set out their visions of this extremely dynamic segment. It is the opportunity for brands to discover new development projects and meet promotors specialized in designer outlets.

Buoyed by last year’s reception, Mapic is, for the second year running, renewing the Global Retail Partner Summit, a matchmaking event targeted by region and for which appointments are made in advance. This exclusive summit will take place behind closed doors on Wednesday 14 November and will bring together nearly 100 participants sorted on the fly for an intensive networking afternoon.
