For the 16th consecutive year the International Luxury Travel Market, the luxury travel industry flagship event, was held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 4 to 7 December 2017.
It broke records this year with a 3% increase in the number of exhibitors and a 10% increase in the number of buyers coming from 75 countries compared to 2016.
Making a point of honour to recruit new buyers for each of its exhibitions, the ILTM proudly announces that this time in Cannes 45% were "new faces".
More than 66,000 business meetings were held, up 9.5% on the previous year, not to mention the many informal networking events that constantly take place in the special atmosphere of the variety of venues available in Cannes.
Amy Furie, Director of Leisure Tourism with New Act Travel LA: “I am a veteran of ILTM in Cannes and I come because I meet fantastic new suppliers every year. If I am invited again, I would accept 100% and if I could only go to one show a year it would be this one!"
Organized by Reed Travel Exhibitions and the International Association of Golf Tour-Operators (IAGTO) from 11 to 14 December 2017, the International Golf Travel Market - the top B2B world trade show for golf tourism professionals - celebrated 20 years in Cannes!
As a prelude to the Ryder Cup in September 2018, the IGTM show in Cannes, which attracted 1,300 golfing professionals, marked the beginning of a new era for the golf tourism sector in France.
Cannes, capital of outdoor sports, is increasingly involved in promoting sports and tourism on the Côte d'Azur. There are thirty golf courses, some of which are internationally renowned, welcoming everyone - amateurs or professionals - all year round. The show was also an opportunity to present the Côte d’Azur Golf Pass, introduced by the Pays de Grasse in partnership with the CRT Côte d'Azur. An offer unique in France, 20 Côte d'Azur golf courses have grouped together to offer attractive rates that are up to 30% off depending on the season.
Whether welcoming golf professionals during the IGTM or visitors staying in the destination at any time of the year, all parts of the tourism network in Cannes and the Côte d Azur mobilize to offer the best service.
With more than 65 million golfers - including 8 million that regularly travel abroad to discover new courses – there’s no doubt Cannes plays a strong hand!
Peter Grimster, Reed Exhibition and IGTM Exhibition Manager: "We had 1300 delegates from 60 countries and many people have commented that this was one of the best venues we had in 20 years. It's a very conducive place to do business and networking and I was very pleased with the success of the event this week."
