Top European boat fair
For its 40th anniversary and true to its reputation as Europe's premier boat show, the Cannes Yachting Festival, which will take place from 12 to 17 September 2017, will host nearly 600 boats, both on water and on land in a 300,000 m2 exhibition space and 3 km of floating pontoons. More than 50,000 visitors and global yachting industry players from the five continents are expected.
Luxury, glamour, and ocean-going showpieces
Small and large yachts, sailing ships, multihulls, small motor boats... Around a hundred will be unveiled to the world for the first time. An exclusive, high-end range including everything from simple tyres to 50-meter yachts. With over 110 yachts measuring 10 to 25 meters, monohulls and multihulls, the Cannes Yachting Festival is undoubtedly the biggest boat meeting in the world – and it will also have the largest number of multihulls, which are being presented by top French and international shipyards. This year the biggest motor boat is the 48 m "Displacement" by Baglietto (Italy) and the biggest sailing boat the "2017 Extreme" from the Turkish Mengi Yay shipyard. Inflatable and semi-rigid boats will be lined up on the Quai Max Laubeuf while equipment, nautical accessories, and services (insurance, financing, etc.) will all be in the village on the Promenade de la Pantiero.
Sea trials, a major attraction
The Cannes Yachting Festival, which is particularly popular for its presentation of boats afloat, will also offer sea trials to future purchasers. These unique, special sea trials will offer enthusiasts and future owners the opportunity to test the new units. 80% of the vessels will be able to leave the port for sea trials during the fair organised in Cannes.
Elegance contest
There is also another aspect to Cannes Yachting Festival festivities - the 3rd elegance contest where vintage and contemporary can be seen side by side during a boat parade. Especially for exhibitors, owners, and collectors of motorboats and day boats under 12 meters long, this contest will take place in the historic setting of the old port in Cannes, near the Beach Club, the VIP pontoon and the Festival beach. The quality of the restoration and boat design, the state of conservation and history, the rarity of the model, the elegance of the crew, and the performance during the parade will all be taken into consideration. Prizes for the "Most Elegant Women" and for the judges’ favourite will be awarded.
