Cannes has a new Director of Tourism.

The Palais des Festivals and Congresses of Cannes is pleased to announce the arrival of Régis Faure as Director of Tourism for the Cannes destination. Under the direction of the CEO, Didier Vescovi, his duties will include implementing the sales and marketing action plan and strengthening Cannes' position as a competitive tourist destination in an increasingly challenging environment.

With a Masters in international economics, a degree in international management and an INSEAD MBA in marketing strategy, Régis Faure has worked for eleven years in the event industry and previously spent over eight years in the French diplomatic service.

He began his career in 1996 at the French Embassy in Italy, then from 1997 to 2001 he worked in the French Embassy in South Korea and from 2001 to 2003 in the French Embassy in Canada.

In 2005, with this international experience behind him, he joined the private event group (GL Events) with responsibility for developing the space management business before being promoted to Director of Development for the Italy - Turkey and Eastern Europe zone.

In 2012, he was appointed General Manager of a trade fair organization and venue management subsidiary.

His economic expertise, diplomatic experience, analysis of international business strategies and in-depth knowledge of the business tourism sector will be valuable assets serving not only Cannes’ economic attractiveness but also its standing as a tourist destination. Cannes welcomes more than two million visitors annually – including 55% foreigners and nearly 300,000 accredited professionals.
