Cannes ended 2017 in the spotlight having been awarded the accolade of best destination!
On 13 November in London during the World Travel Market (WTM), one of the largest tourism fairs in the world, the Luxury Travel Guide presented its Global Awards at a ceremony attended by tourism industry professionals.
For 12 months, the Luxury Travel Guide team travelled to the best destinations, hotels, and restaurants, and also met with tour operators and event companies to select the very best among them. The nominees were from Europe, Asia, Africa, USA, and the Middle East. In the category "Best Tourist Destination 2017", out of country, Cannes was in the final up against Beverly Hills, Cape Town, Kerala, and West Iceland. The jury, made up of specialist journalists, tourism experts and the Guide’s readers-influencers, select the cities or regions that actively demonstrate an energetic tourism development policy.
The prize awarded to the city of Cannes is a reflection of its dynamism and highlights its efforts to promote the destination internationally.
Once again Cannes has been recognized by the international press. It is positioned as a major destination for the luxury sector and attests to the city’s decisions and orientations.
