Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, members of the Hybrid City Alliance.

Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, members of the Hybrid City Alliance, a group of Convention Bureaux offering an innovative multiplex package to international event organisers.

Thanks to its expertise in hosting trade fairs, conferences, business conventions, meetings and seminars, Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès are members of the Hybrid City Alliance. Created on 16 December 2020, this alliance of renowned business destinations offers a new multiplex package to international event organisers to respond to post-pandemic challenges. Through this strategic partnership, Cannes is consolidating its position as the leading city for B2B trade fairs in France after Paris and is effectively preparing to host hybrid international events.

"2020, marked by the global health crisis, has profoundly and permanently transformed the events sector. Cannes, a leading business destination, benefits from recognised expertise in organising events and is working hard to launch new initiatives. Hybrid events have become an essential alternative to promote the return of face-to-face exhibitions. Membership of the Hybrid City Alliance consolidates the Cannes offer to support organisers in renewing their event formats."

David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes

The Hybrid City Alliance is a grouping of major international business destinations determined to meet the new expectations of the events market and its recovery. This alliance aims to offer innovative solutions to organisers who wish to hold events simultaneously in several destinations at the same time.

This offer provides a hub where the central event is hosted in a destination which is connected with other event venues around the world. This destination alliance facilitates the organisation of these events with a single point of entry for the organiser; the "hub" destination acting as a "one-stop shop" to coordinate customer demand and offers from destinations associated with events.

The creation of this multi-destination Alliance also meets health requirements in the event of travel and environmental restrictions.

Besides Cannes, 12 business destinations on 5 continents form this Alliance: The Hague, Geneva, Prague, Seoul, Sydney, Durban, Zurich, Ottawa, Antwerp, Bern, Edmonton, Lausanne Montreux.

The Hybrid City Alliance is a partner of the North American Summit of the ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association, and on 30 March brought together the main PCOs - Professional Congress Organisers - and American learned societies from the largest congresses.
