France is consistently among the leading delegations at MIPTV with 535 companies and 1,420 participants attending the 2018 edition. While overall international sales have doubled over the past eight years, French animation confirmed its leading position. More and more French-made series of all kinds are traveling the world, reaching international audiences. Series like “Le Bureau des Légendes” (The Bureau) or “Midnight sun” (TV France Export Prize 2018) are paving the way to other consistent successes of drama series like long running “Candice Renoir”, sci-fi “Missions” or political fare “Baron Noir”.

« Beecham House » world premiere in Cannes
“Beecham House”, Fremantle and Bend It TV’s new original series from director and creator Gurinder CHADHA (“Bend it like Beckham”), will have its MipTv World Premier as part of CANNESERIES on Sunday 7th April at 7 pm in the Palais des Festivals.
From award-winning production company Bend It TV, part of the Fremantle production family, «Beecham House» is set on the cusp of the 19th century in Dehli before the British ruled in that region and depicts the fortunes of the residents of an imposing mansion surrounded by acres of exotic woods and pristine lawns. Tom BATEMAN («Vanity Fair», «Jekyll and Hyde», «Murder on the Orient Express») takes the role of enigmatic, soulful John BEECHAM, a handsome former soldier who has purchased the magnificent mansion “Beecham House”, to begin a new life with his family.
2nd edition of CANNESERIES
The 2019 MipTv edition is, from 3-10 April, hosting the 2nd CANNESERIES, the Cannes International Series Festival, presided over by Fleur PELLERIN. Free and open to everyone, this festival brings together creators and representatives of the world of series, and creates a platform for tomorrow’s emerging talents via a prestigious international competition. The CANNESERIES first edition welcomed over 20 000 visitors and over 10 000 MipTV delegates.
