3rd edition of Reed Midem’s Esports Bar.

Ready to play sports all together ?
But what, in fact, is ESPORT ? Also known as electronic sport, it is a discipline involving players who do battle on line. These players, like in more traditional sports, take part in tournaments and obtain classifications, whether individually or as a team, at town, country or even global level. While the phenomenon, which started in the United States, has been around for more than 15 years, it is still being structured in Europe and particularly in France.

The leading international event for B2B networking dedicated to e-sports
Launched in 2017 by Reed Midem, organizer of the main international entertainment markets, MIPTV and MIPCOM, the aim of the Esports Bar is to supply the entertainment industry with global commercial sports events, by creating the most productive and enriching experiences, in Cannes and Miami. This BtoB event thus brings esports professionals and their commercial partners together at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes, for 3 days, in order to facilitate relations on a global scale between traditional investors and international “esports” companies, and offer individual meetings and networking opportunities with some one hundred visionary leaders.

A very specific aim
Esports Bar has given itself a very specific aim: make the sport of the “connected generation” the future of entertainment by organizing tailor-made and effective professional events aimed at leaders across the globe. Reed Midem, which has been assisting the development of the television industry for over fifty years with the MIPTV and MIPCOM, and the music industry with Midem, has committed itself to this approach. “We are now putting our experience in international entertainment markets to the service of e-sports” declared Jérôme DELHAYE, Director of Reed Midem’s Entertainment Division.

NBA star Tony Parker ambassador for 2020 Game Shakers Awards at Esports Bar Cannes
Former basketball star and business owner Tony PARKER has been appointed Ambassador of this 3rd edition of the Game Shakers Awards, succeeding former Formula pilot Jean ALESI. Since always fascinated by electronic sports, Tony PARKER has been involved in Esport for 5 years now: ”as an entrepreneur, I have often thought of investing in Esport. With the Tony Parker Adequat Academy, I have had the opportunity to do more and to create a national centre where best Esport Players can practice, improve, think further and help the youth of tomorrow. It is a great honour for me to be appointed Ambassador of the Game Shakers Awards. I do hope we will spread the message, to a broader public, that education does indeed matter in Esport” (Tony PARKER)
The Game Shakers Awards are the first truly international esports prizes. They recognise individuals and companies that have taken esports beyond endemic fans and reached mainstream audiences. Finalists have been chosen by a jury of internationally-respected esports experts.
